Just the Good Stuff
It's statistically true that younger people present as more spiritual than ever, and yet they are less likely to go to church and less likely to profess to being part of an organized religion. Just the Good Stuff is an nontraditional Bible study that focuses on Jesus theology/philosophy and not magic mumbo jumbo.
Our principles
The JTGS philosophy
No old testament, no apocalytic stuff from later books in the new testament. The focus are the teachings.
It is pretty obvious reading the gospels that Jesus and John the Baptist were very much feminists. Women are treated as equals and we will do the same. We will often refer to God as she and we stay away from, or deeply analyze, passages where women are not treated as equals.
The gospel writers spend a fair amount of their pen time talking about magic and churches tend to focus on that. Our focus will be on the theology/philosophy and the humanity of these early Christians.
We'll focus on providing the historical context that will help you understand this fascinating junction in history. The Jewish Community, the Greeks, the Romans, and the Christians are the seeding ground for Western Society. We'll dig into that/
